2023: I‘ll use Niger Delta experience to solve insecurity in Taraba – Col. Agbu Kefas
The governorship candidate of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Taraba state, Col. Agbu Kefas (rtd) Wednesday said he will apply the formula he used in 2009 that brought permanent peace to Niger Delta region to solve insecurity in the state if elected governor in 2023.
Kefas, who mediated between the Niger Delta militia group and the federal government that brought a lasting solution to the region while speaking to journalists in Jalingo, said he will bring his intelligence experience to ensure that all the security issues confronting the state are curtailed.
He noted that security is a collective responsibility, adding he would employ the services of all the communities and leaders to tackle it.
He stressed that his aspiration to become governor of the state in 2023 is not for personal aggrandizement.
The governorship candidate, who said his government would be selfless in its dealings, emphasized that 2023 is all about the people of Taraba.
He added that some members of the PDP in the state who have been spreading false rumors that he was imposed on the people should desist from misleading the public.
“Our elders who see things beyond the way we see it said the power should remain in the south and their quest is to see that the state remains in the hand of the right person,” he said.
